Webfolio stories chapter 1
Here is the context for the early chapters of the story (2004-5) and the role of the characters, including the pebblePAD electronic portfolio created by the University of Wolverhampton's Centre for Learning and Teaching (CeLT) and Pebble Learning. My role was to support the development of student teachers as reflective writers and practitioners. This is how we built our community of practice.
It was important that early asset sharing and dialogue supported online socialisation and community building mirroring that of our 'real' classroom. It was also important to recognise that I was experiencing trials and triumphs too. Personalised feedback was key to our interactions and to stimulating further use of pebblePAD.
A mismatch between ongoing product development and summative assessment demands was challenging and exhausting within the timescale. But we overcame it in time for the second semester. This is where my student, Jane Edwards', webfolio will take up the story. You may also wish to visit other growing webfolios created by PGCE and Post Grad Cert in Mentoring students.
